Imagine if someone collapsed in front of you, would you know what to do to try and save their life?

Fundraise on the day!

Last year we provided 27,500 transition year students with the skills to help save a life. We estimate that these skills will reach 70,000 people. All of last year's Happy Heart Weekend proceeds went towards teaching these students valuable bystander CPR skills.

This year we are asking you and your students to sign up again and come out onto the streets to help us combat heart disease one heart at a time! Nothing compares to the fun and enthusiasm that the students bring to Happy Heart Weekend each year.

We need your support to continue improving by-stander CPR and saving lives. Every year an estimated 5,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest when their hearts stop beating. Between 70 and 100 deaths occur in people under the age of 35 years old! Together we can continue our quest to reduce heart related death in Ireland.

Fundraise in School!

We understand that this year is a particularly difficult year for Transition Years all over the country so an event in your school is a fun alternative to coming out onto the streets. Let your students take charge of their own event and help us continue the fight against Heart Disease.

Many of you who are unable to commit to Happy Heart Weekend because of various other events can still help in Happy Heart Weekend.

Here are some ideas to get you and your students started:

• Selling hearts: we'll send you our happy hearts to sell to staff and students for €2 each!
• Organising an event:
o Non-Uniform or ‘Wear Red Day’- students and staff wear red and donate €2 for the privilege! Just pick a date, tell the students and dig out your red clothes.
o Cake or Jumble Sale. All proceeds from the sale go to the Irish Heart Foundation
o School Disco or Fashion Show- Throw a social events for all students and run a raffle or auction at the event!
o A Sponsored Silence!
o Shorts and Shades Day
